WIRCO Expands Manufacturing Capabilities Through Acquisition of Certain Alcon Industries Assets
Dear Valued Customer and Stakeholder,
We are pleased to announce that on September 30, 2026, WIRCO executed an asset purchase agreement with Alcon Industries, Inc. (“Alcon”) of Cleveland, Ohio, pursuant to which WIRCO agreed to purchase certain specifically identified manufacturing equipment, tooling, intellectual property, designs, drawings, and manufacturing processes that will further strengthen WIRCO's capabilities and support our continued growth.
This investment represents another important step in WIRCO's long-term commitment to providing our customers with industry-leading quality, service, manufacturing capacity, and speed to market.
The addition of Alcon's melting furnaces, fabrication equipment, and casting machines will significantly expand WIRCO's fabrication, centrifugal, and static casting capacities and capabilities. In particular, the additional equipment will significantly increase our ability to manufacture fabrications, centrifugal, and static cast products, providing increased capacity and greater flexibility to meet growing customer requirements.
Equally important is the acquisition of Alcon's active tooling, consisting of over 1,000 active tools, drawings, designs, process instructions, and other limited intellectual property assets. By bringing these assets into WIRCO, we hope to have the opportunity to offer manufacturing solutions that were previously serviced by Alcon.
For more than 50 years, WIRCO has been a trusted American manufacturing partner in the development and manufacture of high-temperature heat treatment tooling and high-alloy wear components for industries throughout North America. We remain committed to manufacturing our products at our facilities in Indiana, Wisconsin, and Illinois and supporting that commitment with a domestic supply chain, including sourcing our stainless-steel requirements from U.S.-based manufacturing facilities.
This acquisition is not simply an investment in additional equipment. It is an investment in our customers and in WIRCO's future. It strengthens our ability to respond faster, increase capacity, preserve valuable tooling and manufacturing knowledge, and provide the quality and service our customers have come to expect and trust.
A WIRCO representative will soon be in contact with your organization. In the meantime, please direct all correspondence and inquiries to sales@wirco.com
WIRCO is a separate company from Alcon and is not assuming any of Alcon’s existing obligations or liabilities. We look forward to implementing these purchased assets at WIRCO and working with our customers to identify opportunities where they can provide additional value. Thank you for your continued trust and partnership with WIRCO.
Sincerely,
Chad Wright
